CHURCH OF GOD
Trademark was selected as the lead contractor for the rebuild of the World Mission Society Church of God in Shirley, Christchurch. Originally built in 1919, with a main hall extension added in 1928, the historic church sustained significant structural damage during the 2010 and 2011 Canterbury earthquakes. The chapel tower collapsed, and extensive damage necessitated partial demolition of the building.
Located at a busy intersection, the project required meticulous planning to manage logistics and ensure public safety with minimal disruption. We secured the building’s structural integrity before proceeding with the careful demolition of the exterior walls. From there, significant structural upgrades were made to the foundations and overall structure.
Throughout construction, public access to the site was maintained. The original ornate ceilings were carefully suspended in place during the works, preserving the building's historical character. A new steeple and tower were constructed to restore the church’s original appearance. Trademark Construction oversaw every aspect of the project, from construction to management of subcontractors. Our expertise in earthquake strengthening and rebuilds ensured the successful delivery of this project.
