Meet the Team

Managing Director
John (AJ) Hastie
John has over 30 years experience operating his own business. Ten years of involvement in agriculture was followed by a move to the city and the beginning of a construction company in Wellington. Trademark later expanded into Christchurch, diversifying into paving – and growing in size, capability, and success. His strong character was a stabilising force that helped guide the company through turbulent times in a volatile industry. John's commitment to success benefits both Trademark's clients and everyone that makes up the Trademark team.
John also uses the skills and experience he has gained in business to benefit non-profit organisations. This has taken him to places like Indonesia and East Germany to advise on and/or oversee building projects.
Married to Liz for over 40 years, John has four children and 11 grandchildren who give him much pleasure. And, should he require some time alone, he is happiest riding his Honda Blackbird motorbike.
